International Day Against Drug Abuse 2025: A Global Call to Unite

Drugs are more than just an addiction — they are being weaponized to influence and break down our youth. They represent a silent war against our nation - aimed at weakening the very foundation of our future. The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking serves as a stark reminder for all of us — To protect our children, safeguard our youth, and protect our nation from the devastating grip of drugs and substance abuse.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025 theme is:“The evidence is clear: invest in prevention. Break the cycle.”
Today, no nation remains untouched by the devious grasp of drugs. Its shadow has stretched far and wide, infiltrating even the most remote corners of the world — affecting men, women, and children alike. The theme of World Drug Day draws urgent attention to the devastating socio-economic and health impacts, as well as the rising crime rates linked to drug abuse. It calls upon the entire humanity to break this vicious cycle and uproot this menace.

The Untold Pain of Addiction – Silent Tears, Heartbreaking Stories

Once trapped in drug addiction — especially by highly addictive synthetic drugs — young individuals often go to extreme lengths to satisfy their cravings. They may borrow money and fall prey to loan sharks or criminal mafias, resort to theft, or even sell off family property, just to fuel their addiction.

The silent tears of a mother, the unspoken agony in a father’s heart, or the heartbreak of siblings when a loved one succumbs to addiction — these emotions are beyond the realm of words.

So many lives, brimming with potential to transform society and bring glory to the nation, are tragically lost to drugs.

Drug addiction and substance abuse have become one of the gravest challenges facing our nation — and the world — today.
A nation’s growth and development depend on its youth, the very foundation upon which the future is built. But by targeting the youth, the drug trade is, in effect, targeting the future itself — stalling progress, weakening societies, and undermining national strength.

This is not just a social issue — It is a silent war.
And we must unite to fight it, to end it, and to reclaim our future.

The Alarming Rise of Drugs

In 2021, the estimated number of illegal drug users worldwide was around 296 million. The actual numbers may be much higher. And on an average, only one out of every 11 individuals receive treatment.

Our nation, India, has shown a drastic increase in the number of drug-users, especially over the last decade. As per a study conducted, 67% of drug users-initiated substance abuse at the age of nineteen or younger, with 52% starting between sixteen and twenty years old, 21% between eleven and fifteen years old, and 4% at the age of ten or even younger.

This is deeply concerning, as the drug-distributing agents target more and more people of younger age-groups, who are extremely vulnerable, inciting and instigating them to initiate drug-use.

To combat this menace and liberate the youth from the shackles of drug addiction, Saint Dr. MSG has devised a comprehensive solution — focusing on holistic healing, from prevention to complete rehabilitation.

Strict Vigil in Communities

The sale and distribution of drugs often happens in dark alleys or unnoticed corners, especially during the late hours of the night when the world is asleep. Saint Dr. MSG recommends strict community vigilance in villages and towns to prevent such elements from infiltrating the community and to take immediate action against them.

A Call to Conscience: Shift from Harm to Healing
To eradicate the menace of drugs, cigarettes, and tobacco, Saint Dr. MSG earnestly appeals to shopkeepers and vendors to discontinue the sale of these harmful substances. Instead, he encourages them to take up other legitimate life-supporting trades like selling groceries or other essential goods.

He also inspires villagers to support and buy from those retailers who choose to follow this noble path and stop selling intoxicants.

With heartfelt blessings, he urges drug-sellers to change their line of business, assuring them of greater prosperity and peace, if they choose to turn away from this life-destroying trade and embrace a better, legitimate trade.

From Addiction to Ambition: Empowering Youth through Sports

Saint Dr. MSG also urges the youth to channel their energy into sports, which helps them stay healthy, build stamina, and develop qualities such as sportsmanship, leadership, and patriotism.

Under his guidance, a dedicated sports village — ‘Khel Gaon’ — has been developed at Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa, where athletes and sportspersons are provided free sports training and world-class infrastructure to hone their skills.

This initiative has revolutionized the sports landscape and brought about a significant mindset shift among young athletes, who are now making their nation proud on the global stage — all while staying away from drugs.

DEPTH Campaign - Drug Eradication Pan India & World through Health and Meditation

75 million success stories. 15 minutes. Zero medicines.

That’s the transformative power of the DEPTH Campaign — the first and only initiative of its kind that has helped millions overcome drug addiction through meditation.

From those once dependent on up to 80 injections of Fortwin or morphine daily, to users of synthetic drugs who had lost all hope — thousands have found lasting relief and successfully quit addiction through DEPTH.

Led by Saint Dr. MSG, participants are taught a sacred method of meditation that triggers an instant boost in willpower. They pledge to stay away from negative influences and commit to a life free from substance abuse. Just a few days of selfless service, guided meditation, and supervision by authorized servitors, empower even the most severe addicts to break free and begin restoring their health.

The SAFE Campaign acts as a vital support initiative — offering nutritious food kits rich in proteins and electrolytes, especially to underprivileged individuals who cannot afford a healthy diet. This helps accelerate their physical recovery and builds a strong foundation for a drug-free life.

Inspired by Guruji’s teachings, dedicated volunteers also help former addicts reintegrate into society — by finding livelihood opportunities and helping rebuild broken family bonds.

Together for a Drug-Free Tomorrow

Today, individuals, communities, organizations, and nations must come together to eliminate the menace of drugs.
Let us unite — as human beings, as inhabitants of one shared planet, as one global family — to protect our society and safeguard our children’s future.

On this International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025, reaffirm your commitment to staying away from drugs and harmful substances, and pledge to take every possible step to eliminate them from our world.

Let success be our only option — and through our collective and united efforts, let us march forward to build a drug-free world.
